Family:Whitney, Ebenezer (1739-a1807)

Ebenezer⁵ Whitney (Elnathan⁴, Eleazar³, Thomas², John¹), son of Elnathan⁴ and Sarah (Perry) Whitney was born 319 Mar 1738/39 at Waltham, MA^[1] and died after 1807 at NC^[2].

Ebenezer married Jemima Powell, daughter of Henry Powell, 30 Apr 1777 at NC; husband "son of Elnathan, New England;".

He appeared on the census of 1790 at NC. He appeared on the census of 1800 at NC.

Jemima Powell was born circa 1750 at NC. She married (--?--) Hall before 1777; first husband. She was got a certificate to Center Monthly Meeting, Guilford County, North Carolina.

Children of Ebenezer⁵ and Jemima (Powell) Whitney:

i.	Elizabeth6 Whitney, b. 20 Feb 1780 at NC.
ii.	Ransom Whitney, b. 12 Jul 1782 at NC. He was also known as Ransower Whitney. He appeared on the census of 1810 at NC. He appeared on the census of 1820 at NC. He appeared on the census of 1830 at NC.
iii.	Demsey Whitney, b. 5 May 1784 at NC; m. Sarah Hoogen 5 Aug 1811 at NC. He was also known as Dempcy Whitney.
iv.	Eli Whitney, b. 11 Sep 1788 at NC; m. Amy Cox 19 Dec 1839 at NC; d. 7 May 1873 at NC at age 84; near 86 years old, having been blind more than 60 years; bur. 1873 at New Salem, NC. He At time of death he had been blind for more than 60 years. 1825 in Randolph; 1830 Randolph; 1835 Randolph; He and Amy Cox 1855 Randolph.
v.	Ebenezer Whitney, b. say 1790; guess by RLW. He appeared on the census of 1820 at NC.
