Eli9 Whitney, Jr. (Eli8, Eli7, Eli6, Nathaniel5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), born 22 Jan 1847, in New Haven, Connecticut; married there 22 Oct 1873, Sarah Sheffield Farnum, born Sept 27, 1850.

He was born in New Haven, Connecticut, where he has always resided; was educated at the public schools there and later was graduated in the class of 1869 at Yale College. He has held various local offices and at present (1894), is a member of the Board of Education. Is also president of the New Haven Water Company; resided New Haven, Connecticut.
