Dr. Ephraim7 Whitney (John6, Ephraim5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), born in Dummeston, Vermont, Feb 26, 1805; married 21 Dec 1834, Mary Ann Dennison. born July 10, 1808; died 20 Feb 1880.
He graduated at Hanover College with high honors, attended lectures at Pittsfield, Massachusetts. With the exception of a short time at Canton, New York, and Detroit, Michigan, he practiced for over 50 years in Massena. A local paper says: "One of our oldest physicians, Dr. E. Whitney, died last week; he had been spending the winter with a daughter in St. Albans, Vermont. He was known and trusted at the bedside of many of the families in this locality. To him was given the confidence such as an honest, faithful physician will always command. Plain, unostentatious, seeking how much good he could do for others, not how much he could make. He had a great memory and to him was referred every debatable question as to date. Faithful in discharge of all his duties. He died 20 May 1884; ; resided Canton, New York and Massena, New York.

Ch., Marguerite Dennison, born 24 Aug 1872; Irene Louise, born 9 Apr 1874; Charles Whitney, born 17 Jun 1875; Cora Elizabeth, born 24 Nov 1876 4625a. iv. Jane Elizabeth, born 13 Oct 1844; married 29 Aug 1871 died Mar. 26, 1889. Her dau. is Jessie W. Kinney; resided Canton, New York.
