Francis A.8 Whitney (Ohio7, Silas6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), born 2 Aug 1823; married 6 Jan 1852, Lucy M. Lane; born 30 Jun 1829; died Aug. 16, 1861; married 2d, 9 Sep 1862, Sarah I. Watkins; born 1841.

Francis A. Whitney is a successful and progressive farmer in Ash. He was for many years a teacher in the public schools and member of the school committee; has been assessor and selectman and trustee of the Cushing academy. He occupies an advanced position among his townsmen; resided Ashburnham, Massachusetts.

i. Earl I.9 Whitney, born 25 Jul 1865.
ii. Walter H. Whitney, born 30 Jun 1868; died 17 Aug 1869.
iii. Henry I. Whitney, born Nov 7, 1872; died 17 Jun 1881.
