John7 Whitney (John6, Nathan5, Thomas4, Eleazer3, Thomas2, John1), son of John6 and Joanna (Hamilton) Whitney, was born say 1783, and died after 1860.

He married, 29 Nov 1804, Readsboro, VT, Lois Amidon, daughter of Samuel and Ruth (Woods) Amidon. She was born about 1778, Douglas, MA, and apparently died between 1830 and 1840.

Children of John7 and Lois (Amidon) Whitney:

i. Worthy Whitney, b. 3 Apr 1805, Readsboro, VT; m. Olive Stearns.
ii. Warren Whitney, b. 20 Oct 1806, Readsboro, VT; m.(1) Lorinda N. Austin; m.(2) Mary -----.
iii. Waters Whitney, b. 22 Sep 1808, Readsboro, VT; m. Harriet -----.
iv. Pliny B. Whitney, b. ca. 1811, VT, m. Phebe Ann -----.

viii. (daughter) Whitney, b. 1810-1815.
ix. (son) Whitney, b. 1815-1820.

Notes

The fact that son Worthy named a daughter Joanna and a son Hamilton makes the parentage of this John Whitney certain.

A search result on Google Books gave the following "John Whitney (1780-1868) m. Lois Amidon (1786-1858)", from D.A.R. Lineage Books, vol. 139.

Census

1775 1668 John Whitney 80 M - Farmer $1500 $600 Vt. Ira " 30 M - do N.Y. Lucinda " 30 F - do
