He was the fifth minister of the first church in Boxford, Massachusetts, and was ordained 15 Oct 1834, and dismissed in 1837. He graduated at Amherst in 1831 and was at Andover Theological Seminary in 1834, and at once settled in Boxford. He went to Waltham at the conclusion of his first pastorate and was settled there for twenty years. Then for ten years he was located at Canaan, New York. Later he moved to Newton Centre, Massachusetts, where he died. He was a scholarly man and kept up his studies to the end of his life. He died 31 May 1879; resided Boxford and Waltham, Massachusetts. Canaan, New York, and Newton Centre, Massachusetts.
