Caleb Whitney (Caleb), son of Caleb and Polly (Whittle) Whitney, was born about 12 Oct 1801, Walpole, NH, and died 2 May 1854, Lowell, MA, aged 52 years 6 months 20 days, of consumption.^[1]

He, of Chester, married 17 Sep 1827, Springfield, VT, Hannah Davis, of Springfield, daughter of Joshua and Mary P. (-----) Davis.^[2] She was born about 1808, Springfield, VT, and died 29 Nov 1886, Lowell, MA, aged 76 years 6 months 27 days, of old age. She married secondly, 21 Nov 1859, Lowell, MA, Alpha Huntoon, born 4 Jul 1795, Unity, NH, and died 23 Mar 1871, German Flatts, NY, son of Joseph and Betsey (Glidden) Huntoon.

They lived first in Springfield, VT, then Lowell, MA, where he was a wheelwright.

iii.	Stephen M. Whitney, b. ca. 1833, Springfield or Chester, VT; d. 9 Apr 1864, Lowell, MA, aged 31 years, of consumption; m. 8 Dec 1856, Lowell, MA, Elizabeth Riley, b. ca. 1837, Boston, MA, dau. of John and Susan (-----) Riley.
