James Whitney (Thomas, Thomas), son of Thomas and Mary (Morgan) Whitney, was baptized 8 Jun 1811, Allensmore, Herefordshire, England, and died third quarter 1886, Weobley, Herefordshire, England.

He married, about 1835, Emma -----. She was born about 1811, Dilwyn, Herefordshire, England.

The family was enumerated in 1851 in Lugwardine, Herefordshire where "James Witney" was a Master Tailor and Draper, employer of 4 townspeople.
