Richard6 Whitney (Simon5, Daniel4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Simon5 and Sarah (Seaver) Whitney,[1] was born 2 Jan 1782, Watertown, MA,[2] was baptized 6 Jan 1782, Watertown, MA,[3] and died 25 Nov 1863, Amherst, MA, aged 80 years 10 months 23 days, of pneumonia.[4]
He married, 23 Apr 1816, Amherst, MA, Mary Elizabeth Parker, daughter of Justin and Mary (-----) Parker. She was born 20 May 1797, Brookfield, MA, and died 13 May 1879, aged 81 years 11 months 27 days, of apoplexy.[5]
He was a carriage trimmer and harnessmaker by trade. He resided Amherst, MA.
He was apparently the "Richard Whitney of Watertown" who, by Betsey Sparrow, had the following child:
