Ephraim4 Whitney (Joseph3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Joseph3 and Rebecca (Burge) Whitney,[1] was born 11 Mar 1715/6, Sherborn, MA,[2] and died after 1759.[3] Since he doesn't appear in the 1771 tax valuation list, or the 1790 census, he probably died before 1771.

Ephraim married, 18 Dec 1744, Groton, MA, Esther Woods,[4] daughter of Thomas Woods and Lydia Bennett. She was born 19 Mar 1725, Groton, MA.

i. Esther5 Whitney, bapt. 2 Apr 1749.[5]
ii. Mary Whitney, bapt. 25 Aug 1751.[6] She and Molly Whitney may be the same person.
