John Almon7 Whitney (John6, Samuel5, John4, Henry3, John2, Henry1), son of John6 and Polly6 (Whitney) Whitney, was born 10 May 1827, Henderson, NY, and died after 1880.
He married, 27 Nov 1857, Belleville, in Ellisburgh, NY, Margaret Chawgo, daughter of Henry and Sally (Chrisman) Chawgo. She was born 5 Aug 1828, Chittenango, NY, and died after 1880.
Phoenix says the following:
- ". . . a farmer . . . . They settled on the homestead of his father, in the north-west part of Ellisburgh, near Rural Hill post-office, and were living there, with his mother and brother, in 1874."
