Augustus Whitney, parentage unknown, was born about 1825, MA, and died 2 May 1885, Haverhill, NH, where he is buried.

He married 24 Dec 1849, Wentworth, NH, Lura/Laura Currier, daughter of John and Martha (Converse) Currier. She was born 2 Aug 1829, VT, and died 9 Apr 1889, Bath, NH.

The original page says that Augustus was born in Massachusetts and that his left hand was gone. It was dated June 1863; he was aged 38 at that time. He was listed as a music teacher.[2]
