[[User:Rlward|Robert L. Ward]] writes: I can't identify him. The vital records of Boston 1810-1840 are no longer extant, which makes it difficult, and he's not in Pierce, nor in FamilySearch.org. My best guess is that, since his second son was named Henry, he might be one of the three sons under 10 of Henry Whitney in the 1820 Census of Boston, 9th ward. Of course, I don't know who that Henry was, either!

Their gravestones say that they died on the same day, 30 Jun 1867.  Nevertheless, it seems that he appears in the 1870 census as F. H. Whitney, at Goshen Hill, Union Co., SC.  The A. E. Whitney with him seems to be a second wife.

Frederick Henry Whitney's parents were John and Silence Miller Whitney (b. 1783) of Boston. (Kibler, 428). [Source: "Our Fathers' Fields" by James Everett Kibler] She was actually Silence (Holbrook)(Whitney)(Houghton) Miller.

Their gravestones say that they died on the same day, 30 Jun 1867. Nevertheless, it seems that he appears in the 1870 census as F. H. Whitney, at Goshen Hill, Union Co., SC. The A. E. Whitney with him seems to be a second wife.
