He married firstly, 6 Jan 1852, Fitchburg, MA, Lucy Matilda Lane, daughter of Elias and Anna (Jones) Lane.[3] She was born 30 Jun 1829, Ashburnham, MA, and died 16 Aug 1861, Ashburnham, MA, aged 32 years 1 month 17 days, of chronic diarrhea.[4]

He married secondly, 9 Sep 1862, Ashburnham, MA [also Fitchburg, MA], Sarah Ingraham Watkins, adopted daughter of Jehiel and Priscilla (-----) Watkins,[5] and daughter of Henry and Sally (Watkins) Ingraham.
