Abel7 Whitney (Jabez6, Jacob5, Jonas4, Eleazar3, Thomas2, John1), son of Jabez6 and Elizabeth (-----) Whitney, was born 21 May 1790, Orange, MA,[1] and died after 1820.
He "of Orange" married, 15 Jul 1810, Athol, MA, Sylvia Twichel,[2] daughter of Bala and Sally (Bishop) Twitchel. She was born 20 Jul 1793, Athol, MA, and died after 1820.
Children of Abel7 and Sylvia (Twitchel) Whitney:
i. Matilda Whitney, b. 15 Jul 1811, Orange, MA.[3] ii. Mary Whitney, b. 28 Feb 1815, Orange, MA;[4] d. 26 Jul 1818, Orange, MA, aged 3 years 4 months 26 days.[5] iii. Luna Leona Whitney, b. 17 Sep 1817, Orange, MA.[6] She m. Edinboro, Erie Co., PA, Harvey Harrison Sherman. Children: a. Phoebe Ann Sherman, b. 1 Sep 1844, Edinboro, Erie Co., PA, d. 24 Nov 1931, Alcester, Union Co., SD; m. 28 Sep 1862, Monroe, WI, Morris D. Smith.
