Joseph8 Whitney (William7, William6, William5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of William7 and Anna (Heywood) Whitney, was born 28 Feb 1794, Gardner, MA,[1] and died 12 May 1876, Gardner, MA, aged 82 years 2 months 13 days, of pneumonia and apoplexy, farmer.[2]

He "3d" married, 6 May 1818, Gardner, MA, Anna "Nancy" Putnam,[3] daughter of John and Anna (Penniman) Putnam. She was born 3 Jun 1798, Gardner, MA, and died 29 Mar 1880, Gardner, MA, aged 81 years 9 months 26 days, of paralysis.[4]
