He married secondly, 26 Oct 1852, Framingham, MA, Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" Thomson, of Saint John, New Brunswick, daughter of William and Emily (Coxetter) Thomson.[5] She was born 26 Feb 1829, Saint John, and died 26 Apr 1904, Natick, MA.[6]
He was born in Natick and has always resided there; has been a prominent citizen. For some years he was assessor of taxes, later was enumerator for the United States census. Also conducted a farm and engaged in the manufacture of shoes. He was a "shoe clerk" at the birth of son George in 1844. He was a "farmer" at his second marriage in 1852.
John A. Whitney and Emily Ann Whitney were both admitted to the church Dedham, MA, 16 Apr 1843.[7]
