Marcellus8 Whitney (Amos7, (prob.) Charles6, John5, (poss.) Samuel4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Amos7 and Mary (Lamson) Whitney, was born 4 Jun 1839, Thorndike, ME, and died 17 Nov 1910, Unity, ME.

He married, 24 May 1860, Lowell, MA, Mary Ann (Sharples) Nichols, daughter of Charles L. and Elizabeth (Smith) Sharples.[1] She was born 6 Jul 1837, Lowell, MA, and died 5 Jan 1916, Unity, ME. She had married firstly George H. Nichols.
