Herbert Edson10 Whitney (Bartholomew9, Bartholomew8, Oliver7, Silas6, David5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of Bartholomew9 and Sarah Towle (Pearson) Whitney, was born 8 Jul 1854, Franklin, VT, and died 1 May 1900, East Franklin, VT, aged 45 years 9 months 22 days.[1] He was buried in East Franklin Cemetery, East Franklin, VT.

He married, 16 May 1877, Ida May Stowe, of West Berkshire, daughter of Silas Absalom and Caroline (Smith) Stowe. She was born 5 Jun 1855, VT, and died 1 Jul 1935, Franklin, VT.[2] She was buried in East Franklin Cemetery, East Franklin, VT.

At one time he conducted an extensive farm, but at present is connected with the Franklin County Creamery Company. He has held several town offices; resided East Franklin, VT.
