Isaac⁷ Whitney (David⁶, Nathan⁵, David⁴, Benjamin³, John², John¹), son of David⁶ and Elizabeth (Barron) Whitney, was born 14 Mar 1806, Westminster, MA,^[1] and died 4 Aug 1846, Newark, IL.

Marriage intentions were published 23 Oct 1832, Westminster, MA, for him and Susan Barrett "of Ashby".^[2] He married firstly, 9 Sep 1832, Susan Taylor Barrett, daughter of Jonas and Susan (Taylor) Barrett. She was born 25 Sep 1808, Ashby, MA, and died 24 Mar 1842.

He "of Illinois" married secondly, 22 Sep 1842, Leominster, MA, Eliza Perkins,^[3] daughter of John and Polly Everett⁷ (Whitney) Perkins, and granddaughter of Jonas⁶ and Elizabeth (Raymond) Whitney. She was born 23 May 1818, Leominster, MA, and died after 1880. She married secondly, before 1848, John Longhead, born about 1801, PA, and died 1890.

He resided Newark, IL.

i.	Lucius8 Whitney, b. 24 Feb 1836; m. Harriett J. Longhead.
ii.	John Howard Whitney, b. 5 Jul 1840; unmarried; was corporal in Company F, 86 Illinois Volunteer Infantry, and was killed by gun shot 14 May 1864, Resaca, GA.
