He married Elizabeth -----. She was born about 1801, Bodenham, Herefordshire, England.
They may have been the George Whitney and Elizabeth South who were married 12 May 1823, Stoke Prior, Herefordshire, England.
In 1841 the family was enumerated on Castle Street in St. Mary Parish, St. Mary, Shropshire, England where George was working as a chemist.
