Streeter8 Whitney (Orange7, Ebenezer6, Ephraim5, Zachariah4, Ebenezer3, Richard2, John1), son of Orange7 and Clarissa (Swetland) Whitney, was born 18 Mar 1813, PA, and died 11 Oct 1886. He was buried in Sherman Cemetery, Sherman, NY.[1]

He married 1839, Harriet Ransom, daughter of Rufus and Mercy (Combs) Ransom, of Canterbury, CT. She was born 20 Apr 1822, and died about 1892.

i. Orvill M.9 Whitney, b. 1840; d. 1862 in the Union army; he was first a member of the 112th Reg., NY Volunteer Infantry, and at the time of his death was in the 7th MA Battery. Possibly the same as Orwell Whitney, who d. 11 Nov 1863, and is bur. Sherman Cemetery, Sherman, NY.[2]
