Samuel Austin8 Whitney (Eli7, James6, Samuel5, Samuel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Eli7 and Dorcas (Austin) Whitney, was born about 1830, Newfield, NY, and died 3 Mar 1900.

He married, 16 Apr 1856, Horseheads, NY, Lucinda Devoe. She was born about 1831-1837, NY, and died 9 Dec 1903.
