Family:Whitney, James Harvey (c1823-1893)

James Harvey⁸ Whitney (James Harvey⁷, Jonas⁶, Timothy⁵, Jonas⁴, Moses³, Richard², John¹), son of James Harvey⁷ and Lydia (Gates) Whitney, was born about 1823, NY, and died 27 Jan 1893, MO, aged 69 years. He was buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, NY.^[1]

He married firstly, before 1848, Margaret H. Price, daughter of Richard Palmer and Nancy (Houghton) Price. She was born about 1826, and died 26 Jun 1867, Homer, NY, aged 41 years. She was buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, NY.^[2]

He married secondly, 1869, Rapthelia Fuller. She was born about Apr 1829, NY, and died Dec 1901, Windsor, MO.

i.	Byron Harvey9 Whitney, b. 29 Dec 1848, Summerhill, NY; m. Emma Fatina Wadleigh.
ii.	Richard Whitney, b. ca. Feb 1850, prob. Summerhill, NY; not in family in 1860; possibly the same as Marvin below.
iii.	Marvin Whitney, b. ca. 1850; d. 30 Mar 1851, aged 1 year; bur. Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, NY. Inscription: "Marvin|son of|J.H. & M.H.|Whitney|Died|Mar. 30, 1851|Aged 1 year".[3] Possibly the same as Richard above.
iv.	Henry Palmer Whitney, b. 8 Jul 1852, Homer, NY; m. Hulda Ann Fults.
v.	Alice Jane Whitney, b. 20 Nov 1855, Homer, NY; d. 9 Apr 1928 in Osawatomie, KS; m. 8 Mar 1876, Dover, MN, John Knickerbocker Vermilyea.
