Sgt. Jacob5 Whitney (Jonas4, Eleazar3, Thomas2, John1), son of Jonas4 and Sarah (Perry) Whitney, was born 24 Feb or 24 Jul 1737, Roxbury, MA[1], and died 14 Jan 1803, Roxbury, MA, aged 66 years.[2]

He married, 15 Nov 1759, Roxbury, Massachusetts, Rachel Whiting. She was born circa 1737 (calculated from age at death), and died 12 Aug 1812, Milton or Phillipston, MA, aged 75 years.

During the Revolutionary War he was sergt. in that company commanded by Capt. Corey from Roxbury. Res. West Roxbury, Mass.[3]

i. Prudence6 Whitney, b. 25 Jul 1760; bapt. 17 Aug 1760; m. 29 Dec 1790, Roxbury, MA, Lewis Jones.
