Family:Whitney, Daniel (1746-1812)

Daniel⁵ Whitney (Daniel⁴, Jonathan³, Jonathan², John¹), son of Daniel⁴ and Thankful (Allen) Whitney, was born 4 Sep 1746,^[1] Shrewsbury, MA,^[2] and died Jun 1817, aged 68 years.^[3]

He "of Shrewsbury" married, 26 Sep 1771, Oxford, MA, Katy Stone "of the County Gore",^[4] daughter of Uriah and Mary (Blunt) Stone.^[5] She was born 15 Nov 1752, Oxford, MA.^[6]

Pierce says the following:^[7]

He was in the Revolutionary army, in the company commanded by Capt. ANDREWS, of Shrewsbury.

He may have been the Daniel Whitney enumerated in Stamford, Bennington Co., VT in 1800, a town mid-way between Shrewsbury and Marlboro, MA and Madrid, NY.
