Justin7 Whitney (Salmon6, Jonas5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Salmon6 and Hepzibah (Raymond) Whitney, was born 24 Jul 1801, Harvard, MA, and died 7 Aug 1862, Leominster, MA.

He married, 7 Nov 1827, Boxborough, MA, Mary Cushing Cotton[1]. She was born 15 Sep 1806, and died 25 May 1891.

He was born in Harvard where he resided nearly all his life, was a farmer and lived on the farm, which tradition says, was originally purchased of the Indians. He resided Harvard and Leominster, MA.

ii. Maria Bird Whitney, b. 14 May 1831; m. 1852, Henry Richards; resided Worcester.
iii. Salmon Whitney, b. 24 Mar 1833; d. 26 Jul 1864, Leominster, MA; unmarried. He studied law in Lowell and at Harvard Law School; was admitted to the bar in 1860 and opened an office at Groton Junction, now Ayer. He served in the Sixth and Fifty-third Massachusetts Infantry. He enlisted 22 Apr 1861, and was discharged for disability 6 Jun 1863.
