In 1839 he migrated west, settling in Daysville, Ogle County, Illinois. He was engaged at his trade, that of coopering, at which he always worked. After his marriage he moved to Dixon, Lee County, Illinois, and followed his trade. In 1877 he was taken ill, and since then has been incapacitated for work. Of late years he has made his home in Minneapolis with his daughter, Mrs. Henry. He acquired a handsome property, and was always an industrious, honorable citizen; resided Daysville and Dixon, Illinois.

Amos Stone7 Whitney (Jonah6, Isaiah5, Isaiah4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of Jonah6 and Jane (Stone) Whitney, was born 27 Apr 1807, Henniker, NH.
