Major Hachaliah6 Whitney (Jesse5, Jonathan4, Jonathan3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Jesse5 and Mary (Cheney) Whitney, was born 5 Apr 1762, Mendon, MA,[1] and died 14 Nov 1848, Milford, MA.
He married firstly, 29 Jun 1786, Milford, MA, Abigail Nelson. She was born 30 Jul 1765.
He married secondly, 9 Oct 1842, Milford, MA, Mrs. Olive (Madden) Cobb. She was born 1 Jun 1777, and died 1849.
He was in the Revolutionary war in the Mendon and Milford companies, and later was captain, and in 1809 major, of the local military regiment. He inherited part of the old homestead on which he always resided. He resided Milford, Massachusetts.
Children of Hachaliah6 and Abigail (Nelson) Whitney:
i. Ethan7 Whitney, born 22 Apr 1788; married Betsey Miller Green. ii. Jesse Whitney, born 12 Oct 1790; married Rebecca Fisk. iii. Nelson Whitney, born 24 Mar 1790; died 19 Jul 1790. iv. Abigail Whitney, born 6 Jan 1803; resided Milford.
