Edwin Goldsmith8 Whitney (Jacob7, Jacob6, Abraham5, Abraham4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), born 30 Nov 1812; married July, 1834, Maria Carver.
He was for many years president of First National bank there; very wealthy and influential all along the Ohio river in the active early years of developments in that region. He died 3 Dec 1880; resided Madison, Indiana.
Children of Edwin Goldsmith8 and Maria (Carver) Whitney:
i. Brainard W.9 Whitney; resided New York City.
