Family:Whitney, Russell (1792-1831)

Russell⁸ Whitney (Moses⁷, Samuel⁶, Samuel⁵, Nathaniel⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of Moses⁷ and Bernice (Locke) Whitney; born 17 May 1792; married 12 Apr 1814, Polly Lamb; born 28 Jan 1789; died 30 Dec 1843. She was dau. of Maj. Joel Lamb. He settled in Jackson, Pennsylvania, at an early day and afterward removed to Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, where he died. Built, in partnership with his brother-in-law Jairus Lamb, the first saw mill in Jackson. He died May 21, 1831; resided Marlboro, Vermont, and Jackson, Pennsylvania.

Lucy Bernicey Whitney, born 13 Jun 1819; married 12 Oct 1844, Ensign Egleston; born 29 Sep 1821; died 22 Apr 1889; resided Honesdale, Pennsylvania Ch.: Mary Lamb, born Elmira, New York, 30 Jun 1845; married 5 Jun 1867, J.
