Capt. Samuel7 Whitney (Samuel Austin6, Samuel5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of Samuel Austin6 and Ruth (Perkins) Whitney, was born 30 Jul 1802, and drowned 31 Mar 1846, Penobscot Bay, ME.

He married, 21 Nov 1844, Rebecca Witherle Howe. She drowned 31 Mar 1846, Penobscot Bay, ME.
