Sgt. Jacob5 Whitney (Jonas4, Eleazar3, Thomas2, John1), son of Jonas4 and Sarah (Perry) Whitney, was born 24 Jul 1737, Roxbury, MA,[1] and died 14 Jan 1803, Roxbury, MA, aged 66 years.[2]

He married, 15 Nov 1759, Roxbury, Massachusetts, Rachel Whiting, daughter of Nathaniel and Hannah (Lyon) Whiting.[3] She was born 19 Apr 1737, Roxbury, MA, and died 12 Aug 1812, Milton, MA, aged 75 years.[4]

During the Revolutionary War he was sergt. in that company commanded by Capt. Corey from Roxbury. Res. West Roxbury, Mass.[5]
