James Whitney (John), son of John and Hannah (-----) Whitney, born circa 1841, Leftwich, Cheshire, England, died after 1881.
He married Ann -----. She was born circa 1843, Winsford, Cheshire, England.
In 1851 he resided in Castle Northwich Township (now part of Northwich), Cheshire, England with his parents.
In 1861 he was a unmarried saddler lodging in Runcorn.
In 1871 he resided in Runcorn with his family and a domestic servant.

In 1891 he resided in Runcorn with his family and was a saddler.
