Charles Legrand7 Whitney (Samuel Starfield6, Thomas5, James4, Henry3, John2, Henry1), son of Samuel Starfield6 and Lois (Stewart) Whitney, was born 15 Oct 1834, New Canaan, CT, and died after Feb 1875.
He married, 12 Jun 1864, Stamford, CT, Martha Ann Bates, daughter of John and Esther Smith (Holley) Bates. She was born 10 June 1843, Darien, CT, and died after Feb 1875.
Phoenix says the following:
- ". . . a farmer . . . . They settled at Darien, and were living there in Feb. 1875."
Children of Charles Legrand7 and Martha Ann (Bates) Whitney, both born in Darien, CT:
i. Thomas Riley8 Whitney, b. 16 Jul 1865. ii. Annie Esther Whitney, b. 4 Jun 1867.
