George Washington7 Whitney (Richard6, Richard5, Richard4, Henry3, John2, Henry1), son of Richard6 and Adeline (Jones) Whitney, was born 27 Jan 1828, Magnolia, NY, and died after 1880.
He married, 5 May 1867, Sherman, NY, Hannah Dutton, daughter of Oliver and Julia (Thorp) Dutton. She was born 16 Jul 1840, Sherman, NY, and died after 1900.
Phoenix says the following:
- ". . . a physician; graduated at Buffalo Medical College in the Spring of 1852; went to California in the succeeding Autumn, and for eight years experienced all the vicissitudes of the early Californian life; was a member of the Legislature of California in 1859 and 1860 . . . . They settled in Jamestown, N.Y., and were living there in Ap. 1874."
