Justin7 Whitney (Salmon6, Jonas5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), born July 24, 1801 in Harvard; married in 1827 Mary Cushing Cotton, in Boxboro; born 15 Sep 1806; died 25 May 1891.

He was born in Harvard where he resided nearly all his life, was a farmer and lived on the farm, which tradition says, was originally purchased of the Indians. He died 7 Aug 1862. Resided Harvard, Massachusetts and Leominster, Massachusetts.

Children of Justin7 Whitney:

i. Justin Otis8 Whitney, born 10 Jun 1829; died unmarried, 13 Oct 1853.
ii. Maria Bird Whitney, born 14 May 1831; married 1852, Henry Richards; resided Worcester.
iii. Salmon Whitney, born 24 Mar 1833; died unmarried, 26 Jul 1864. He studied law in Lowell and at Harvard Law School; was admitted to the bar in 1860 and opened an office at Groton Junction, now Ayer. He served in the Sixth and Fifty-third Massachusetts Infantry, and died in Leominster. He enlisted 22 Apr 1861, and was discharged for disability 6 Jun 1863.
iv. Harriet I. Whitney, born 6 Jan 1837; married 18 Feb 1866, Marshall P. Frost, resided 183 Lincoln St., Worcester.

v. George Henry Whitney, born 18 Jul 1839; married Sarah C. Gould.
vi. Ellen Frances Whitney, born 7 Jun 1847; married 10 Jun 1868.
vii. Sarah Maria Whitney, born 6 Jan 1841; married 17 Oct 1860, Thomas Bennett, resided 14 Elliott St., Worc. He was born 14 Aug 1836; died June 20, 1890. He was boatswain in the U. S. Navy.
Ch.: Hattie Maria, born 1 Sep 1861; married 19 Oct 1886; present address (Mrs. Henry L. Adams, Wilmington, Vermont; Minnie Frances, born 28 Dec 1862; married 17 Oct 1882; address, Mrs. Minnie F. Bennett, born 30 Jul 1866; present address, Deputy Clerk of United States Court, Boston, Massachusetts; one grandchild, Donald Bennett Adams, born 13 Jun 1890; at Wilmington, Vermont.
