Eli7 Whitney (James6, Samuel5, Samuel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of James6 and Eunice (Johnson) Whitney, was born 25 Feb 1795, Newtown, CT,[1] and died after 1860.

He married, Dorcas Austin. She was born about 1797, NY, and died after 1860.

He resided Horseheads, NY.

Phoenix says the following:

"Eli Whitney, b. in Newtown, Conn., 25 Feb. 1795; a shoemaker, butcher, and painter; married Dorcas Austin, dau. of Samuel Austin. His last residence was at Horseheads, N. Y., and he died there."

iii. Jerusha Whitney, b. ca. 1825-1830; d. before 1850, and probably before 1840, Newfield, NY.
iv. Lucretia Frances Whitney, b. 8 Jun 1825, Newfield, NY; d. 6 Feb 1910, Caton, NY; m. 28 Sep 1843, Elmira, NY, William Henry Brace; b. 30 Nov 1820, Danby, NY; resided Caton, NY.
v. Theresa Pamelia Whitney, b. ca. 1828, NY; unmarried in 1860.
vi. Samuel Austin Whitney, b. ca. 1830, Newfield, NY; m. Lucinda Devoe.
vii. Philo Lorenzo Whitney, b. 30 May 1833, Newfield, NY; m. Ann Elizabeth Zeak.
viii. Henry Eli Whitney, b. ca. 1836, NY; m. Sarah (Van Guilder) Ingalls.
ix. Alozia Whitney, b. ca. 1848, NY; m. Elmira, NY, Albert McKinney; resided Southport, NY. He enlisted, 15 Aug. 1862, in Co. D, 141st Reg., N. Y. S. Vol.; and was discharged 4 Feb. 1863.
