Family:Whitney, Israel (1767-1842)

Israel⁶ Whitney (Jonas⁵, Jonas⁴, Moses³, Richard², John¹), son of Jonas⁵ and Zebudah (Davis) Whitney; born 16 Jan 1767, in Harvard; married there 30 Mar 1788, Susannah Gerry; born Harvard, 10 Apr 1769; died North Hero, Vermont, 11 Feb 1848.

He was born in Harvard, Worcester County, Massachusetts; worked on his father's farm. Soon after his marriage he moved to Littleton, Massachusetts, then to Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire; and soon after a short residence in Sudbury to North Hero, Vermont, where he afterward resided. He died 12 Feb 1842; resided Littleton, Massachusetts; Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire, and Sudbury and North Hero, Vermont.

i.	Israel7 Whitney, born Littleton, 31 May 1790; died unmarried, killed by a falling tree, at North Hero, Vermont, in 1816.
ii.	Susannah Whitney, born 24 Sep 1792; married John Darrow of Alburgh, Vermont; born -----; married Lucien Clark; resided Dickinson, New York.
iii.	Betsey Whitney, born 26 Jul 1794; married Sept., 1816, Aaron Davis of Bradford, Vermont. He was a shoemaker. Ch.: Levi W., born 1 Jul 1817, North Hero, Grand Isle County, Vermont; married 12 Oct 1843; resided Pittsford, New York; Nelson, born Aug., 1818, North Hero, Vermont; Loren, born Aug., 1820, North Hero, Vermont. Loren died at Lone Rock, Wisconsin, 1863; do not know the address of any of his children. (Nelson's, Oconto, Wisconsin) There were five of the Hazen children: Harris, Harriet, Harvey, Dan, Josephus. Harris, Harriet, Josephus died in Canada; Harvey is in Dickinson, New York; Dan in Burlington, Vermont.
iv.	Peter Whitney, born 16 Aug 1799; married Lucina Fisk and Laura Farr.
v.	Gary Whitney, born -----; married Patty Hazen.
vi.	Levi Whitney, born -----; died at North Hero, unmarried
vii.	Lucena Whitney, born 10 May 1809; married Sept., 1827; Daniel Hazen of North Hero. He was born Mar., 1800; died 30 Mar 1828. She married 2d, Jan., 1837, Ralph Hazen. She died 27 Aug 1867. Ch.: Daniel, born Aug. 13, 1827; married 8 Sep 1852, Laura Ann Kinsley; resided Hiawatha, Kansas; Ceylon, born 9 May 1838; married July, 1857, Jennette Roach; resided Rolf, Iowa; Ann Augusta, born 12 Sep 1840; died 12 Oct 1850.
viii.	Abigail Whitney, born -----; married Henry H. Hazen of North Hero. Ch.: Sumner L., born -----; married -----; resided Malone, New York.
ix.	Sealand Whitney, born 2 Nov 1799; married Sybil Landon.
