Erastus6 Whitney (Samuel5, John4, Henry3, John2, Henry1), son of Samuel5 and Mary (St. John) Whitney, was born 10 Mar 1787, and died 13 Nov 1855, Henderson, NY. He was buried in the Carpenter Cemetery.
He married firstly, 1809, Henderson, NY, Hannah Jerome, daughter of Zerubbabel and Barbara (Hart) Jerome. She was born 8 May 1785, Bristol, CT, and died 10 May 1822, Henderson, NY. She was buried in the Carpenter Cemetery.
He married secondly, 26 Sep 1822, Henderson, NY, Betsey Wood, daughter of Ephraim and Phebe (Finney) Wood. She was born 3 Jul 1789, Westmoreland, NY, and died 21 Sep 1875, Henderson, NY. She was buried in the Carpenter Cemetery.
Phoenix says the following:
- ... a farmer .... They settled in Henderson, and there died (he ... "respected and beloved by all who knew him;" ...) .... They were members of the Universalist Church.
