Samuel6 Whitney ([prob.] Samuel5, Eleazer4, Eleazar3, Thomas2, John1), probably son of Samuel5 and Lavinia (Bigelow) Whitney, was born say 1785, Alstead, NH, and died before 1850.

Intentions of marriage were published 8 Nov 1808, Charlestown, MA, for him "Mr." "of Boston" and "Miss" Frances Goodenow "of Charlestown".[1]. He married, 28 Nov 1808, Boston, MA, Frances Goodenow.[2] She was born about 15 Jan 1787, Sudbury, MA, and died 5 Jan 1857, Boston, MA, aged 69 years 11 months 20 days, of consumption.[3]

Children of Samuel6 and Frances (Goodenow) Whitney, probably incomplete:

i. Samuel B.7 Whitney, b. ca. 1812, Boston, MA; d. 12 Mar 1853, Boston, MA, aged 40 years, of suicide;[4] m. 24 Mar 1839, Boston, MA, Eliza Curtis,[5] died after 1853, when her husband was called "married". No known children.
ii. Elizabeth G. Whitney, b. ca. 12 Aug 1812, Boston, MA; d. 20 Apr 1900, Boston, MA, aged 87 years, 8 months 8 days, of influenza, pneumonia, and senile gangrene; unmarried.[6]
iii. Frances J. Whitney, b. ca. 12 Apr 1817, Boston, MA; d. 13 May 1888, Shirley, MA, aged 71 yearss 1 month 1 day, of pneumonia; unmarried.[7]
iv. Martha Earl Whitney, b. ca. 8 Mar 1821, Boston, MA; d. 15 Aug 1904, Quincy, MA, aged 83 years 5 months 7 days;[8] m. Timothy Reed

Notes

The daughter Martha Earl Whitney was apparently named for Samuel's sister Martha (Whitney) Earl, of Paxton, MA.
