William Bartholomew7 Whitney (Samuel6, Joseph5, Timothy4, John3, John2, John1), son of Samuel6 and Mary (Whitney) Whitney; born Worcester, Massachusetts, 4 Oct 1778; married in Prince Edward County, Canada, 6 Jun 1805, Lydia Ann Lawrence; born in 1780; died Apr 1869.

He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, in 1778; from 1782-1798 he resided in Gilsum, New Hampshire. During the latter year he went to Littleton, Massachusetts, to learn the trade of Morocco leather dressing. After his marriage they resided in Lynn, Massachusetts, where he worked at his trade until the spring of 1812 when they moved to Lower Cananda and kept a tavern nine miles from St. Johns for three years. They then moved to Burlington, Vermont, and kept a tavern three years and then moved to Kingston's Mills, Upper Canada, and farmed for two years. Later he moved to Hallowell, U.C., and then after five years to Sophiasburg, U.C., where he died, and was buried in Sand Point cemetery. He died in Apr. 1849; resided Belleville, Ontario.

v. Joshua Whitney, born 21 Jun 1829; married 14 Mar 1837, Mary Eliza Williston; resided Demorestville, Ontario
