John F.⁷ Whitney ([prob.] Abraham⁶, Isaac⁵, Benjamin⁴, John³, Benjamin², John¹), probably son of Abraham⁶ and Judith (Francis) Whitney, was born in March 1821 and was baptized 4 Mar 1821, Brunswick, ME,^[1] and died 29 Nov 1895, East Livermore, ME.^[2]

He married, date and place unknown, Martha S. Hacker, daughter of Daniel and Hannah (Sawyer) Hacker. She was born 25 June 1826, Brunswick, ME,^[3] and died 18 Jan 1903, Jay, ME.^[4]

Both are buried in Riverside Cemetery, Brunswick, ME.

i.	George H.8 Whitney, born in Durham, ME 24 Apr 1845 and bapt. 24 Apr 1845, Brunswick, ME.[5] He married Clara "Carrie" E. Soule, born in Rome, ME 23 Dec 1865 in Dexter, ME. He died 29 Oct 1921 in Livermore Falls, ME. Children of George H. and Carrie Soule Whitney: 1. Cora M.9 Whitney, b. ca. 1867. 2. John E. Whitney, b. ca. 1872. 3. Francis R. Whitney, b. Aug 1888. 4. v.	Elmira "Myra" Jane Whitney, bapt. 7 Feb 1860, Brunswick, ME;[12] m. 21 Sep 1878, Canton, ME, "Mr." Alfred Nelson Gray.[13], the son of William and Marguerite (Toothaker) Gray. He was born 20 Oct 1849 in Richmond, ME, and died 1 June 1921 in Livermore Falls, ME. Myra died in 1927. They are both buried in the Riverside Cemetery in Brunswick, ME.
vi.	Elsie Edith Whitney, b. 2 July 1867 in Brunswick, ME; "Miss" m. first, 16 Oct 1885, North Livermore, ME, "Mr." Stephen D. Alden.[14]. She married secondly, 24 Dec 1898 in Livermore Falls, ME, George L. Ridley, the son of James and Elizabeth (Thompson) Ridley. He was born Sept 1858 in East Livermore, ME. Elsie was his second marriage. She died 1 July 1920 in Livermore Falls, ME, and was buried 3 days later in the Riverside Cemetery in Brunswick, ME
