Thomas J.7 Whitney (Thomas6, John5, Samuel4, Joshua3, David2, Samuel1), son of Thomas and Kitturah (Pruitt) Whitney, was born circa 1816, KY, and died 28 May 1887.

He married, 6 Sep 1852, Barren Co., KY, America J. H. B. Stark. She was born 9 Jan 1834, KY, and died 19 Jul 1896, Scottsville, KY.

Children of Thomas J.7 and America J. H. B. (Stark) Whitney:

i. J. T.8 Whitney, b. ca. 1854, KY. Probably John T. Whitney, as in 1870 census below.
ii. Maggie Whitney, b. 15 Aug 1866, KY; d. 3 May 1896, Allen Co., KY; m. bef. 1891,Robert Thomas Hurt.
iii. James W. Whitney, b. ca. 1871, KY; d. after 1920; m. Wincy8 Whitney, b. 16 Feb 1872, Allen Co., KY; d. 23 Oct 1944, Allen Co., KY, dau. of Loammi7 and Catherine (Renick) Whitney. They were second cousins.
