Henry Asa9 Whitney (Noah8, David7, Silas6, David5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of Noah8 and Mercy (French) Whitney, was born 19 Nov 1822, Clarendon, VT, and died 21 Dec 1900, Oneonta, NY. He was buried in the Lower Cemetery, Phillipston, MA.[1]

He married firstly, 29 Sep 1853, Phillipston, MA, Sarah Childs Ward, daughter of Walter and Mary (Stratton) Ward.[2] She was born 10 Jun 1824, Athol, MA, and died 28 Jul 1857, Phillipston, MA. She was buried in the Lower Cemetery, Phillipston, MA.[3]

He married secondly, 5 Jul 1860 [Pierce] or 4 Jul 1861, Chicopee, MA, Elizabeth "Lizzie" E. Stewart, daughter of Charles and Esther (-----) Stewart.[4] She was born 1 Nov 1833, Roseneath, PEI, and died 24 or 27 Mar 1877, Phillipston, MA, aged 43 years 4 months 24 days, of chorea.[5]

He resided Baldwinsville, MA.

Reynolds, aged 17, both of Fitchburg.[7] She was b. ca. 31 Jul 1859, Berkshire, VT, d. 1 Oct 1877, Fitchburg, MA, aged 18 years 2 months 1 day, of peritonitis, dau. of John P. and Emily A. (-----) Reynolds.[8] He, of Greenfield, MA, m.(2) 13 Apr 1880, Keene, NH, Lena C. Whipple. Children:
a. Ethel Sarah11 Whitney, b. 19 Jan 1881, Phillipston, MA.[9]
ii. Alfred C. Whitney, b. 31 Jan 1856, Phillipston, MA; m. Alice L. Sawyer.
iii. Emma Ann Janette Whitney, b. 10 Jun 1857, Ashburnham, MA;[10] d. 14 Mar 1863.
