Ebenezer5 Whitney (Elnathan4, Eleazar3, Thomas2, John1), son of Elnathan4 and Sarah (Perry) Whitney, was born 19 Mar 1738/9, Waltham, MA,[1] and died after 1807, NC.[2]

He "son of Elnathan, New England" married, 30 Apr 1777, NC, Jemima Powell, daughter of Henry Powell. She was born circa 1750, NC. She had married firstly, before 1777, ----- Hall. She got a certificate to Center Monthly Meeting, Guilford County, North Carolina.

He appeared on the census of 1790, NC. He appeared on the census of 1800, NC.

Children of Ebenezer5 and Jemima (Powell) Whitney:

i. Elizabeth6 Whitney, b. 20 Feb 1780, NC.
ii. Ransom Whitney, b. 12 Jul 1782, NC. He was also known as Ransower Whitney. He appeared on the census of 1810, NC. He appeared on the census of 1820, NC. He appeared on the census of 1830, NC.
iii. Demsey Whitney, b. 5 May 1784, NC; m. 5 Aug 1811, NC, Sarah Hoogen. He was also known as Dempcy Whitney.
iv. Eli Whitney, b. 11 Sep 1788, NC; d. 7 May 1873, NC, near 86 years old, having been blind more than 60 years; bur. 1873 at New Salem, NC; m. 19 Dec 1839, NC, Amy Cox. Resided 1825, 1830, 1835, and with his wife 1855, all in Randolph Co., NC.
v. Ebenezer Whitney, b. say 1790; appeared on the census of 1820, NC.
