Ethan⁸ Whitney (Ethan⁷, Hachaliah⁶, Jesse⁵, Jonathan⁴, Jonathan³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Ethan⁷ and Betsey Mellen (Green) Whitney, was born 2 Dec 1823, Milford, MA, and died 2 Feb 1900, Montclair, NJ.

He married, 24 Nov 1842, Bellingham, MA, Julia Ann Louise Bosworth,^[1] daughter of Ezekiel Bates and Julia Gifford (Beers) Bosworth. She was born 14 Jul 1823, Providence, RI, and died 6 Apr 1898, Montclair, NJ.

He resided 72 Downing street, Brooklyn, NY, in 1895.
