Stephen⁶ Whitney (Alexander⁵, Eleazer⁴, Eleazer³, Thomas², John¹), son of Alexander⁵ and Lois (Carroll) Whitney; born 10 Jun 1792, died 26 Oct 1864.

He married, 22 Feb 1825, Sarah Bailey, born 3 Mar 1801, died Dec 1869.

He was a farmer. They resided Henniker, Claremont, and Newport, New Hampshire.

i.	Edwin R.7 Whitney, born 19 Nov 1825; married 12 Sep 1849, Henniker, NH, Prudence S. Connor. She was born 18 Apr 1830. Is a farmer; resided Ashland, New Hampshire.
ii.	Edgar M. Whitney, born 19 Nov 1825; died 17 Sep 1826.
iii.	Sarah Jane Whitney, born 25 Dec 1827; married 12 Sep 1849, Barnabas C. Whipple of Croydon; resided Sutton, New Hampshire. He is a farmer; was born 1 Jan 1823. Ch.: Edgar B., born Nov 12, 1850, Orange County, Fla, res., Leona Haven: Warren L., born 6 Apr 1852, m.; resided Goshen, New Hampshire: Mason E. born Mar, 1854, died 4 Jun 1858: Rubie J., born July 6, 1860, married William E. Drew, Merrimack, Massachusetts: Aaron M., born Oct 20, 1863; married Cora Merrill, Roby's Corner, New Hampshire: Alice J., born Apr 14, 1866, married Stephen Pillsbury, Biddeford, Maine.

v.	George Frederick Whitney, born 12 Aug 1832; married Ann E Durgan.
