Francis Alexander8 Whitney (Ohio7, Silas6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Ohio7 and Mary (Bolton) Whitney, was born 2 Aug 1823, Ashburnham, MA.[1]

He married firstly, 6 Jan 1852, Lucy M. Lane. She was born 30 Jun 1829, and died 16 Aug 1861.

He married secondly, 9 Sep 1862, Sarah Ingraham Watkins. She was born 1840.[2]

Francis A. Whitney is a successful and progressive farmer in Ashburnham. He was for many years a teacher in the public schools and member of the school committee; has been assessor and selectman and trustee of the Cushing academy. He occupies an advanced position among his townsmen; resided Ashburnham, MA.

ii. Walter H. Whitney, b. 30 Jun 1868; d. 17 Aug 1869.
