Minor M. Whitney, parentage unknown, was born say 1795, NY, and died between 1840 and 1850, probably Amite Co., MS.

He married, firstly, 28 Dec 1825, Amite Co., MS, Penelope Lowry.^[1]

He married, secondly?, Sophia -----. She was born circa 1817, Amite Co., MS, and died after 1860. She married, secondly, James R. Aumock.

Children of Minor M. and Sophia (-----) Whitney (relationship not yet ascertained, probably not all are children but may have been daughter-in-laws and/or grandchildren):

i.	Rebecca E. Whitney, b. ca. 1838, Amite Co., MS.
ii.	Minor M. Whitney, b. ca. 1847, Amite Co., MS. He is listed in the 1880 census in Amite Co. where his father is listed as born in NY.
iii.	Amelia M. Whitney, b. ca. 1828, Amite Co., MS.
iv.	Alice S. Whitney, b. ca. 1849, Amite Co., MS.
